1962 Ferrari 250 GTO Takes Top Honors

Mercedes-Simplex 60 HP Wins Best of Show in Prewar Division

Amelia Island, FL - March 9, 2025 - A 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO owned by David MacNeil was awarded Best in Show at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance held from March 6th to March 9th. The GTO, one of the most iconic and valuable cars in the world, was shown in the postwar sports class and emerged as the overall winner from a field of over 300 entries.

In the prewar division, the Best of Show award went to a 1903 Mercedes-Simplex 60 HP Roi Des Belges, owned by the Mercedes-Benz Museum. This rare and significant car was the first of its kind and is considered to be one of the most important automobiles in automotive history.
